For more than a year, Montereau Marketing Director, Jamie Townsend, and her talented sales team received requests from prospective residents for larger garden homes with the latest amenities. This interest triggered a discussion about possibly building more garden homes at Montereau, and after looking at the feasibility of such a project, land was designated for three future custom garden homes. According to Jamie, the sales team could see the trend towards higher-end, custom built homes, and they are excited about the opportunity to offer these options at Montereau.
Over the past five months, progress has been made to level and prepare the designated land for building. The appeal of a fully customizable home nestled in our beautiful landscape with access to all that Montereau has to offer was enticing to prospective residents. So, even as the land was being prepared, the three designated lots were sold.
Bobby Blose, Plant Operations Director, explained, “All three garden homes will fit seamlessly into the look and feel of Montereau while offering a fully custom build for each new resident.”
Bobby went on to share some of the unique design elements that will be included in the custom garden home, such as a catering kitchen and herringbone wood floors throughout. All of the home sites start at 3,250 square feet with additional square footage added to accommodate each client’s specifications. The homes will also include tall windows, a saferoom, outdoor landscaping, a three-car garage and a back-up generator.
The three homes were designed by local architectural firm, Bainbridge Design Group, and Executive Homes is the contracted builder. Bobby’s role as an owner’s representative, or liaison, between the resident and builder will ensure that each custom home is built to the exact specifications indicated by each owner. Bobby’s involvement also ensures that the construction is high-quality and that it remains consistent with the overall look of our community.
Future garden home residents, Larry and Judy Reiners, are looking forward to moving into their new build. In fact, they frequently visit our campus and have already started taking advantage of picking up meals at Le March and attending exercise classes. Judy said, “Now that the building process is underway, I am on campus to attend exercise classes where I have already met a lot of friendly residents and look forward to meeting more! There is so much that Montereau offers its residents and we are looking forward to it all.”
The custom garden homes will be completed on a rolling schedule in mid-2020. Look forward to welcoming our new garden home residents at that time!
