With the holiday season quickly approaching, our vibrant community looks forward to a fun-packed calendar of Thanksgiving events and activities. From dazzling light displays to heartwarming winter celebrations, this year’s season of gratitude is shaping up to be something truly special. We also have our very own community events to look forward to, so keep an eye out for our November events calendar.
Tulsa Veterans Day Parade
The first event on our Thanksgiving agenda is the 105th Tulsa Veterans Day Parade, an event during which the streets are lined with Tulsa residents of all ages. This patriotic event pays tribute to the many men and women who bravely served our country and to whom we fervently show our gratitude. Join your fellow residents, wave a flag, and show your appreciation for our beloved veterans. The parade kicks off at 5 p.m. on November 10th.
Utica Square Lights On Festival
This year’s Utica Square Lights On Festival promises to be one of the most spectacular ever. Seven hundred thousand lights are set to adorn the square, sparkling and shining high above the beautifully decorated streets. Bask in their warm glow, grab a delicious hot chocolate and join in the singing of Christmas carols. You’ll also have an opportunity to capture the magic with photos in the enchanting garden. It’s a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit. The lights will be switched on at 6:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd.
The Tulsa Winter Fest
Come along to the 16th Tulsa Winter Fest for a winter wonderland experience like no other. Here, you can watch the ice skaters twirl around the rink, marvel at Oklahoma’s tallest Christmas tree and enjoy plenty of live entertainment. For a touch of charm and nostalgia, why not take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages? This event is the perfect place to make cherished memories with friends, family and fellow residents. The festivities begin on November 24th and run for 40 days, giving you plenty of time to arrange a visit and take in the sights.
Montereau’s On-Campus Activities
Of course, if you prefer to stay closer to home and enjoy the comforts of Montereau, we have a calendar packed with Thanksgiving-themed on-campus activities. During the holidays, we really appreciate our thriving Independent Living community and the wonderful place we call home.
Keep an eye out for events such as crafting workshops, festive movie nights and Thanksgiving feasts. It’s activities such as these that foster a sense of community and provide opportunities to celebrate the season together. Friends and family are always welcome to join in the fun.
